20 L Stainless Steel Pedal Bin with Soft Close Lid, Made in Turkey

Below about ten litres you empty a bin before anything in it has time to turn. At twenty litres, what is inside stays in the room for two or three days, so the lid has to work.

What Are the Key Features of This 20 L Pedal Bin's Damped Soft-Close Lid?

• 20 L: waste stays in the room for a couple of days at this size, so the lid has to work.
• Damped lid, no slam: release the pedal and it settles onto the rim under control, so it seats properly every time instead of bouncing back half open.
• Foot pedal on a steel body: the bin gets opened by whichever part of you is free, and the body takes that use several times a day without going out of round.
• Fingerprint and smudge resistant coating: it matters most on a matte black bin, because dark steel otherwise records every hand that passes it.
• Black, dark grey or silver, made in Turkey: three finishes off one build, so you can match your appliances.

Where Can You Use This 20 L Stainless Steel Pedal Bin?

• In a kitchen, where waste sits for two or three warm evenings before it leaves
• In a bathroom, opened by foot with wet hands
• In an office, beside a shared desk
• In a school
• In a hotel room

Why Does This Pedal Bin Use Steel for the Body but ABS for the Pedal Mechanism?

• At 20 L the lid matters: this is the size at which contents stay in the room long enough for a crooked lid to be noticed.
• Steel skin, ABS mechanism: steel takes a foot daily and a weekly mop, while ABS is the rigid plastic for a pedal arm that flexes thousands of times.

Material & Build

• Body: stainless steel . Keeps its shape under a foot several times a day and a weekly knock from a mop, so the lid goes on seating properly.
• Mechanism and liner: ABS . The rigid engineering plastic used where parts flex thousands of times, which is the pedal arm and the hinge.
• Lid: damped . Closes slowly and quietly instead of slamming, so it never rests half open on the rim.
• Opening: foot pedal . Hands stay off the bin entirely.
• Made in Turkey.
